Experience:New to Travian, hoary old veteran of many other games.

Hi - New to this game, but a veteran gamer of 30+ yrs (board, PBM, PC, RPG, etc - I was for a while the top-rated UK player of Adventurer Kings). Started first game of Travia apprx 10 days ago, pop=87, total production=250+.

Looking for 2 things specifically
a) advice from more experienced players - this game is deeper than I first realised (yay!)
b) help - being repeatedly trashed by my local Teuton, which has stalled my growth for several days while I turn almost all resources into increasing my cranny and cranking out just enough troops to get massacred in the next raid.
Hoping to get cranny to a point where I am always able to spend stuff before it gets nicked.
NB Weighted my economy towards Wheat, so I only need 1 +25% bonus running at at time, and trade for other stuff as needed.

Activity - typically 1-2 times a day (lunchtime + evening) but family/work commitments do sometimes interfere with my gaming life.
